Leonardo DiCaprio is Arthur Rimbaud, the revolutionary 19th Century poet, whose hedonistic approach to life challenged all aspects of the establishment. Paul Verlaine, a well respected poet, calls Rimbaud to Paris in 1871 but their common love of literature soon develops into an intense destructive relationship. As Rimbaud follows a debauched path through Parisian society the seeds of destruction are sown.
