Young Adam (Widescreen)
Starring Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, Peter Mullan, Emily Mortimer and Jack McElhone
Directed by David Mackenzie
Based on Scottish beat writer Alexander Trocchi's novel and inspired by the great Hollywood film noirs of the 40s and 50s. Ewan McGregor stars as Joe, a rootless drifter who finds work on a barge owned by Leslie and his wife Ella. One afternoon they find a corpse floating in the canal. The body turns out to be that of a young woman with whom Joe had previously had a relationship. Was her death an accident, suicide or murder?
